Web Hosting
Web hosting is available in many versions. Here are some
suggested sources from the free hosts up to professional paid e-commerce hosts.
Free Hosts
- Tripod.com - Free hosting, good
features, has banner ads.
- atfreeweb.com
- Free hosting, ad supported. They also have reasonably prices
paid hosting.
- Bootbox.net - Banner-free
web hosting, but limited to 10MB space.
- Your own ISP - Don't forget your own ISP. Most of them give you
anywhere from 5 to 50 MB of web space. Okay, it's not exactly free, but it's
already paid for.
Budget Hosts
- Atfreeweb - As listed in the free
section you can get the same service pretty reasonably without the banner ads.
Professional Feature Filled hosting
There are many good professional grade web hosts. Check these site for the
latest of the best, and the ones to avoid. I have generally heard good reports
on Communitech.net, Web2010, Verio, and Interland. You should find them in the
first three links below.

- Web Rings
- Scuba directories - Many of the directories provide link sharing.
- Link Exchanges
- Get involved in some of the email lists and get to know those of similar
interest. Don't SPAM, but you can put a link in your mail or news signature
file.
Web Site Add-ons
- Everyone.net - Add free public
email or discussion groups on your site. They are hosting the free email
service for uwphotographer.net and the web forums on this site.

Website Affiliate Programs
Image Protection
- Clevercontent.com -
image protection on the web. This site allows posting of full
size/resolution photos safe from copyright theft. It uses a plug-in to
remove the possibility of saving photos. Although it uses a plug-in, it is
the only program that seems to be secure from screen captures.
Image Management
- ThumbsPlus - As far as I'm
concerned this is the best image catalog and browsing software on the
market. You can open and convert almost any type image file available, as
well as do some image editing. It also has a web page wizard to create web
based albums with automatic thumbnailing and linking. There is a shareware
version you can try for free.
